<p>The new library will have the following features:</p>
<ul>
<li>26,000 square feet</li>
<li>ability to hold approximately 30,000 books &amp; materials</li>
<li>designated children&#8217;s area</li>
<li>designated area for young adults</li>
<li>designated area for adults</li>
<li>multipurpose room with 100-seat capacity</li>
<li>2 courtyards, one of which will feature a <a id="aptureLink_nk2owbbjfj" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen%20garden"><strong>Zen garden</strong></a></li>
<li>an <strong><a id="aptureLink_QUIFJAnh8Z" href="http://www.answers.com/topic/arboretum">Arboretum</a></strong>
<ul>
<li>offering how-to instructions how to create private gardens</li>
<li>a retention pond featuring native aquatic plants</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>The building will incorporate <strong><a id="aptureLink_na8XLtkzoa" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmentally%20friendly">eco-friendly design</a></strong> and will have <strong><a id="aptureLink_j6vtDFlmTl" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership%20in%20Energy%20and%20Environmental%20Design">Silver LEED Certification</a></strong>, according to the planners.</p>
<p>Construction is scheduled to start in late 2010, and doors are scheduled to be open to the public in 2012.  The estimated cost for the  new library is $15 million.</p>
