Calling All Kids (And Their Parents) Ages 8 – 10!

Macys 5th Annual Spelling Bee
When: August 28, 2010 at 2:00pm
Where: Aventura Mall
From August 7th to September 12th Macy’s will be holding spelling bees at select stores throughout the country. The winner of each local spelling bee will receive a year of online learning from Kaplan Tutoring, a $150 Scholastic online gift card and a trip to New York City to compete in the finals at Macy’s Herald Square on Sunday, September 26, 2010. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 Kaplan Tutoring Scholarship and a $500 Scholastic online gift card.
This event is hosted by Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). RIF motivates children to read by working with them, their parents and community members to make reading a fun part of every day life. The City of Aventura is hosting it’s annual fireworks display on the 4th of July. The display can be viewed from any location along the Country Club Drives. Fireworks begin promptly at 9:00pm.
